In the early days, Snowdown had some serious racing as well as some fun events. Here is the program from the first Snowdown in 1979, catalog number 18.1.1.
Later Snowdown festivities included costumes and crazy antics. The photo below was taken in 1988 in front of the Durango Depot. The theme that year was "Still Crazy After All 10 Years." Catalog number 02.72.115.
The Animas Museum hosted the Snowdown Do's & Don'ts Luncheon in 2003 when the theme was "Carnaval." Here Inez Massieon is proving that Snowdown appeals to all ages. Catalog number 02.72.115.
